Horses!

Starters

Friends, I love Tony Gilroy. I came to my low-key obsession/high-level respect by way of the television series Andor (Highly recommend! Must watch!) and never looked back. Well, I actually look back quite often to visit his other work. The man writes a tight, compelling, meaningful screenplay.

With attention typically focused on actors and directors, screenwriters and anyone else behind the scenes are easily overlooked. But screenplays start it all. What do actors and directors do until someone writes a story? Honoring this, I enjoy noticing what particular writers have created, much as we might notice a “Steven Spielberg film” or a “Tom Hanks movie.” With another nod to TV, I send a belated shout-out specifically to Noah Hawley. I am in awe of what he’s done with Fargo on FX (season five, freshly re-watched).

Anyway, hello, welcome, and thank you for stopping by. For new visitors, here’s what this situation is all about:

With Savor the View , we’ll watch, think, and talk about movies and the things that matter. A warm welcome and thanks to our regular crew!

Each Monday, I share brief, spoiler-free remarks and questions to frame viewing a movie on our own.
